  1. Hi there, been reading your blog for a bit, sorry i haven’t introduced myself. Had to put my 2 cents in on Wellington restaurants:

    Floriditas for brunch:
everything we’ve had there was fantastic, and they’ve got the best Hollandaise sauce in town.

I’d describe it as an Asian-fusion tapas bar. Everything there is yum. Most memorable were the steamed dumplings with raw salmon – the salmon ends up just a little cooked at the edges.

    Hell Pizza:
Pizza with strange and tasty toppings, my favourite is chicken-Camembert-cranberry. Plus the Bond St. location is a great place to hang out with friends – full bar, and leather couches by the fireplace.

I’m sure there’s more but those ones jump immediately to mind.

  2. Hi Heather,

Mmmm, yes to Floriditas and Hell. I like the Sinister pizza, it’s a vegan pizza but I add cheese. I always feel kind of bad about that :-)

I haven’t tried Chow yet. I shall add it to my list!

  3. I didn’t know you could add cheese to the Sinister… I remember thinking that would be a great pizza if it had cheese on it.

Chow is a must-do, and there’s still some time left ;)

I was Surprised at how many on your list we hadn’t tried… We just had dinner at KK tonight, thanks to your recommendation – very tasty! I had the chicken whatzitcalled with the curry and desiccated coconut. yum.

  4. If you like Japanese food there are some great picks in Auckland – Kura near town hall, Don Don Rikka in New market has fantastic donburi & sake nippon in royal oak for cheaper options.
Fine dining – dine by peter gordon is great but $$$$, and Euro down in the viaduct have some good takes on staple dishes.
